These
are correct, well made wines of good quality. My only criticism is
that ultimately they fail to thrill. UK agents are Justerini &
Brooks (020 7208 2500), and they are quite widely available.
Voyager
Estate Sauvignon Blanc Semillon 2003 Margaret River
Fresh, round, open nose is very fruity. Nice grassy edge to the
palate. Well made with some richness, but the overall impression is
freshness. Very good+ 88/100 (Oddbins)
Voyager
Estate Semillon 2001 Margaret River
Taut and fresh nose. The palate is fresh and fruity with a
distinctive herby edge. Unusual but not unpleasant. Very good+ 87/100
(Oddbins)
Voyager
Estate Chardonnay 2002 Margaret River
Very full, savoury, toasty nutty nose is quite bold with classy
oaking. Good concentration on the savoury palate with lots of
nuttiness and very good acidity. Firm finish. Very good+ 89/100 (Oddbins,
Noel Young, Connolly’s)
Voyager
Estate Shiraz 2002 Margaret River
Deep coloured. Muted nose is quite tight, with savoury oak. The
palate is a bit characterless at the moment. It’s quite structured
so I’m guessing there is some potential for development. Very good+
86/100
Voyager
Estate Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot 2000 Margaret River
Taut nose of ripe fruit with a spicy overlay of oak. Nice
blackcurrant fruit on the palate with a mineralic tannic edge. Tasty
and tight; quite structured. Very good+ 88/100
