Domaines Lupier
Remarkable Grenache from old vineyard plots high up in Navarra, Spain

Website:  www.domaineslupier.com

Elisa Úcar and Enrique Basarte started progress on Domaines Lupier in 2006, with a goal to rescue old Garnacha (Grenache) vineyards in the north of the Navarra appellation. Their approach is non-intervention, looking for acidity and freshness, and they are going back to the past. They have managed their vineyards biodynamically since the beginning, and they now have 27 small plots, totalling 17 hectares in all. The vineyards are at an altitude of 400-750 metres, with limestone soils. These are superb, interesting wines.
