The wines of Mountford Estate, Waipara
Some of New Zealand's most elegant wines from this South Island producer

At this boutique Waipara winery, perfectionist winemaker CP Lin is fashioning some of New Zealandís most elegant Pinot Noirs. Lin famously described previous owner Mike Eatonís wines as Ďcrapí before being hired to see if he could do a better job. The vineyard dates back to 1991.

Mountford was purchased by Kiwi/Dutch couple Kathryn Ryan and Kees Zeestraten in 2007, and since then further Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Riesling have been planted, taking the vineyard area up to 10 hectares. In addition, some fruit from contract growers is used to make the Village and Liaison Pinot Noirs.

The wines are imported into the UK by Hallowed Ground, and suggested retail prices are indicated in brackets after each note.
