Olga Martins of Lavradores de Feitoria with her husband Jorge Moreira (of Poeira and Quinta de la Rosa)

Lavradores de Feitoria is a cooperative venture between 15 different estates, spread through all three subregions of the Douro. The wines are impressive, and the packaging and marketing are first rate. Três Bagos is the brand used as a catch-all for wine blended from various estates, while each year the top-performing Quintas get to bottle wines under their own names.

Três Bagos Tinto 2004
Lovely focused fruit on the nose. Nice weight on the palate with crunchy tannins, a mix of red and black fruits with good concentration and definition. A lovely wine and I suspect this will be great value for money.
Very good/excellent 91/100

Três Bagos Grande Escolha 2004
Beautifully perfumed nose of dark fruits with some oak, herby notes and tar. Sweet, concentrated, dense palate with lovely lush fruit and good oak. A lovely wine. Quite rich and oaky, but nice. Very good/excellent 92/100

Quinta da Costa 2004
Beautifully perfumed nose with fresh, chunky red fruits. The palate shows dense, ripe, sweet fruit that’s beautifully structured. Great concentration: a lovely wine. Very good/excellemnt 93/100
