Another video blog entry – this time, me tasting some rather delicious Rieslings. Perfect for a warm summer weekend like this.

Being based in Oz, I saw a figure which will shock riesling lovers (like me). The 2010 vintage saw 30,000T of riesling and 43,000T of pinot gris – riesling has been pushing and pushing for 20 years and PG has been around seriously for 5 years and yet is dominating with some pretty ordinary wines. Sad days indeed.
I find the Pith characteristic is someting I really love from Aussie Rieslings…
Nice job. But I do not think one can say that there is a Kabinett style. German Kabinett wine can be bone dry or sugar sweet, depending on what the winemaker does with the grape juice in the cellar. As a rule and excluding the noble sweet wines, all German wine would be bone dry, if it were not for an additional effort of the winemaker in the cellar. http://www.schiller-wine.blogspot.com/2010/01/german-wine-basics-sugar-in-grape.html
I reposted the article on my Facebook Fan Page “Drinking German Wine in America”. Thanks
