It’s the last day of what has been a rather miserable August here in the UK. But it’s going out in some style, with a perfect sunny day finishing the month off. It could almost still be summer, were it not for a slight autumnal bite in the air, and the way the day is so slow to warm up. Had a lovely walk with the dog in Hanworth Park (pictured above) – this was part of one of London’s main airports in the 1920s and 30s, until things moved a couple of miles down the road to Heathrow.
It has been quite a difficult August chez Goode. Our boys are now teenagers, and behaving like it. They set each other off with a frequency that amazes me. Think of Craig Bellamy and Eric Cantona living together. That’s how turbulent our household can be: things get thrown and smashed on a regular basis. But, of course, if you challenge them or attempt to break up a fight, suddenly YOU are the problem.
Just one more week until older son is back to school in Somerset. We miss him when he’s away, but when the two are together, it is almost impossible.
