The purpose of the tractor work being to cut the horizontal roots to force bigger vertical systems, or...?
To answer your question, the purpose of the tilling here was to cut the weeds. This a shallow physical action which doesn't affect the roots. It is the #500 Biodynamic preparation which sends the roots down toward the centre of the earth where the plant finds its own earthly individuality.
Thanks Philippe.
The beauty of this tractor is that it's able to work the soil in the vine row without damaging the vines.
Tilling the soil in the middle of the row is easier; it's more difficult to work under the vines, and that's what this device is able to do.
