Reader discount on SWIG's new offer
Apologies for bombarding blog readers with a commercial offer, but Damon at SWiG (a top mail order/internet merchant) has just released a pre-arrival offer of some top South African wines at special prices, and if you mention the word 'wineanorak' when you order he's kindly offered to give you a further 10% discount. No commercial link, etc.

Hi Jamie. I would love to know if any sales are generated off the back of your post. I'm currently trying to gather direct proof that wine blogs can directly influence sales.
Well, I'm a regular Swig customer and will probably take advantage of this offer. JXM at £8.50 is a bargain, and I may also go for some TMV.
If it weren't for the credit crunch, I'd probably take in some Thelema Merlot Reserve and Vergelegen SB.

Bit odd, a wine writer bigging up a wine retailer apropos of nothing?
Anon, I'm not bigging them up, just passing on a discount they volunteered exclusively to wineanorak readers. I'm keen to see any retailer who's trying to do good work by sourcing interesting wines flourish because this means more and better choice for punters here in the UK.
As I said, no financial connection.
