Chandon have just launched their Argentine sparkling wines in the UK. They are really impressive, made in a rich but balanced style. Retail price is around £16, which is expensive for non-Champagne sparkling, but I think these wines justify this price.
Chandon Methode Traditionelle Brut NV Argentina
A blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Very rich and toasty with a sweet edge to the lively, spicy citrus, pear and peach fruit. Bold and quite rich with a lovely toasty, spicy richness, some complexity and good depth. 90/100 (£19.49 Majestic but £12.98 each if you buy 2)
Chandon Methode Traditionelle Rose NV Argentina
Pale pink colour. Subtle, toasty and fine with some cherry notes. Nicely fresh with lovely fruit presence. Very approachable and balanced. 89/100
