Had this at lunch today, at The Slanted Door in San Francisco’s Ferry Terminal. It’s a lovely restaurant with modern vietnamese cuisine the theme, and a stunning wine list full of interesting bottles that really do a good job in matching the menu. It’s a sparkling wine from Champ Divin in the Jura, made from biodynamically grown grapes. And it’s delicious.
Champ Divin Crémant du Jura 2013 Jura, France
13.5% alcohol. Biodynamic, zero dosage. Full yellow colour. Fresh but with a bit of development, showing pear, ripe apples and lemons. Lovely acidity underpins the nicely complex, deeply flavoured palate. This is so nice, offering a bit of richness but also freshness and precision. 92/100

I just wish more agents here in Alberta would bring in more Jura…but then would they sell?
