Cult Cava: Juvé y Camps Reserva de la Familia Gran Reserva 2011 Spain

juve y camps

I first encountered Juvé y Camps last year in Barcelona. It’s a sort of ‘cult’ Cava, in that it’s really good, more expensive than regular Cavas, and is a bit of an insiders’ tip. It’s now available in the UK, and while this would never be confused with Champagne (that’s not the point), it is distinctive and quite delicious.

Juvé y Camps Reserva de la Familia Gran Reserva 2011 Spain
Very fresh and floral with bright citrus fruit aromatics. The palate is fresh and pure with zesty citrus fruit and nice acidity and a lovely twist of aniseed and citrus peel. Real personality here. 92/100 (£19.50 Forntum & Mason, Excel Wines, Cambio de Tercio, Vinoteca, Noble Wines)
