Stonehaven Sauvignon Blanc, brilliant value from South Africa

Stonehavenb Sauvignon Blanc

Was really impressed with this Sauvignon, which is made by the talented Duncan Savage at Cape Point. Think I shall try to buy a dozen as house white for Christmas.

Stonehaven Sauvignon Blanc 2011 Western Cape, South Africa
13.5% alcohol. Beautifully open and fruity, this is fresh, well balanced and crisp, with a delicious grapefruit freshness alongside the lively, fruity palate. Great value. 89/100 (£7.99 Coop, on offer at £5.99 until January 3rd)

  1. Jamie – what would you recommend for a house Xmas red (turkey lunch, naturally) for around the £7-8/btl range? Will certainly try your shout on this SA Sauvignon blanc for the White. Sounds ideal.

  2. Can’t find it at all in the 3 Co-ops I visited today here in Southsea. I’ll keep looking. I, too, would be interested to have your house red, sub £10.
