Two Chardonnays tonight. Both quite lovely. My vote goes to the beautiful biodynamic Chardonnay from Seresin, but the Lafon is nice too.
Seresin Chardonnay Reserve 2010 Marlborough, New Zealand
13.5% alcohol. Wild yeast, 20% new oak. There’s a richness here, with a bit of mealiness and some spice, as well as lovely complex citrus fruits. Lovely tension between the richer pineapple notes and the fresh lemon, with a bit of toasty richness and a long spicy finish. Stylish wine showing nice density and definition. 93/100
Les Hértitiers du Comte Lafon Mâcon-Milly-Lamartine 2012 Burgundy, France
There’s a core of fresh lemony fruit here with nice precision, but also a bit of depth. Some pithiness and some pear richness, too. Lively spicy notes add interest. Purity and density combine to produce something better than the appellation might suggest. 90/100

Love the Seresin wines although I have noted that they can be prone to oxidation a bit quicker than other New Zealand wines, losing a bit of tension on the second day already (both in red and white). Don’t have the issue with other NZ producers like Neudorf or Ata Rangi (basically all that is avaialbe in Belgium in that price category).
