Yesterday was great. Spent it with Wine Marlborough. First, a superb tasting of a range of very interesting Marlborough wines, including some superb Pinot Noir and a really fantastic Syrah.
Then, we had a tour round the region, taking in different subregions. Beautiful clear skies. Striking scenery. Lots and lots of new plantings, especially in the Awatere, which at 6000 ha is now bigger than Hawkes Bay.
Now I’m in Auckland with my friends the Hemingways, before flying back tonight.

Hi Jamie,
What was that “really fantastic Syrah” you’ve tried?
Cheers
