I wrote up the first releases of these wines – the 2012s – just over two years ago. Now it’s time to look at some more recent releases. Seriously impressive wines. Not cheap, but very, very good.
Tolpuddle Vineyard Chardonnay 2013 Tasmania, Australia
Aromatic, linear and very pure with nice citrus fruit. Bright and very direct with a lovely acidic core. Linear and refined, showing real finesse. 94/100
Tolpuddle Vineyard Pinot Noir 2014 Tasmania, Australia
This is youthful, unusual and quite beautiful. Lively peppery, spicy nose has a hint of ginger and some wildly aromatic herbal notes. Distinctive. The palate is juicy and vivid with really fresh, focused cherry and raspberry fruit and very fine spicy notes. Lovely sappy elegance here: youthful and quite beautiful. 95/100
