2015 was a very successful vintage in Margaret River, by all accounts, and this Bordeaux-style blend from Moss Wood is quite beautiful. It’s also relatively inexpensive for the quality. While you can drink it now, it should age really well.
Moss Wood Amy’s 2015 Margaret River, Australia
A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec and Petit Verdot from the Glenmore vineyard, weighing in at 14.5% alcohol. Ripe but very fresh with tangy blackcurrant fruit, a twist of tar and eucalypt, and fresh acidity. Lovely combination of fruit, structure and savoury spiciness. Well balanced and potentially age worthy. Still a little angular now, but I think that’s a good thing in a young wine like this. 93/100
