'Terroirs': Fiona Sims reviews London's first natural wine bar

There's a new natural wine bar in London. It's called, rather appropriately, 'Terroirs', and it is reviewed here in tomorrow's (the wonder of the internet) Times by Fiona Sims. I'll try to check it out next time I'm in town. The centrepiece of her article focuses on whether natural wines give you a hangover - the issue for me is whether they taste interesting.

Sounds intriguing... Natural wines are a recent discovery for me and I have stumbled across some true gems so far - as well as a few stinkers, I admit, but my success rate has been pretty high! I will definitely be roping some colleagues into investigating further... Definite potential here.

artisan&vine is London's first natural wine bar - as Fiona's article on natural wines in this week's 'Caterer and Hotelkeeper' magazine correctly states. I think the qualifier on The Times article was "central" London. artisan&vine, in Battersea, stocks 120+ wines that are natural or local and opened in July this year. www.artisanandvine.com

Went to Terroirs and their wine list is truly impressive, maybe even too much! but hey, who can complain? and very exciting food.
Artisan&vine has less wine choice, and wine is not kept at cool temperature which just shows how much they haven't grasped the "natural" and fragile side to these amazing wines. Food is very average there anyway.

There's also a wine shop in North London that specialises in natural wines. I think, it's called "Wine of Course" but their website is under a different name - http://www.zelas.co.uk
They have about 40-50 different natural wines, I believe mostly from France.

Actually, Green & Blue in East Dulwich which as been around since June 2005 has always promoted 'natural wines' These are not the only wines which they stock but they were the first to begin pushing these as well as organic and biodynamic. They also do arguably the most to actively promote them with regular, well attended tastings featuring and explaining the wines.
