jamie goode's wine blog

A quick post to point readers to a new blog. It's from UK merchant Bibendum and it's called The Juice. Well written and worth a read; let's hope they manage to keep it going past the 2005 en primeur campaign. Lots of blogs start off well, but then fall away. Sounds like the parable of the sower, doesn't it?

On reading Bibendum's blog, it seems quite easy to tell that there a wine merchant-lines like "It is a wonderful vintage for those who are new to buying wine en primeur, they can buy almost anything with confidence" and "whether Bordeaux 2005 is worth the hype. Quite simply, it is" do give the impression that they're trying to flog they're stuff. Having said that, do you know how much of a cut the merchant's get from the wine bought en primeur? I assume they must get something.

Cheers.

Jamie----as always thanks for your really interesting Blogs.I especially appreciate the photos, and think the quality is excellent.
As I am setting up my own website soon,I wonder which camera do you use? I have a Nikon D50 with 18-55 lens.

Keith, the D50 sounds great. I use either an HP945 or a Nikon coolpix 5600 (when i need something discrete or portable) - neither are terribly expensive, but give good results.
