"More than 60 top culinary stars have a date at Vienna´s Palais
Coburg in April 2006. For four days there, renowned wine makers,
chefs, cheese affineurs, and other international culinary experts,
will present their exquisite tastebud temptations and other fine
delectables at numerous events taking place in the palace. Between
April 19th and April 22nd, Vienna and the Palais Coburg will indeed be
the center of the world of tasting pleasure and enjoyment.
The
World Wine Festival was founded 10 years ago in Bad Ragaz,
Switzerland, as a bi-annual
summit held there to celebrate pleasure on the highest levels; as a
unifying link between
nationalities, world philosophies and wine ideologies. And now, the
management of Palais Coburg in Vienna has succeeding in
acquiring the license to hold
the festival outside of Switzerland for the first time.
Along
with a grand forum, at which nearly 60 international wineries will be
present over three afternoons, a
total of 20 culinary events will be featured during the four-day
festival in Vienna. These range
from an 'aroma experience' with Jean Lenoir (Le Nez du Vin),
to a tasting of wines and chocolates; and from an 'East meets
West' workshop (Austrian wines
with Asian cuisine) to a wine auction and a tasting of the
'Best Wines of the Millennium' given by Serena Sutcliffe MW.
The breadth and scale of the
festival offers something for every palate and every pleasure-seeker's
budget.
Besides
Palais Coburg as the center of the event, other top Viennese
restaurants such as the
Steirereck,
Meinl am Graben, Walter Bauer, the Schwarze Kameel and the Hotel
Marriott will participate
as festival sites as well.
