A good example of Syrah from the Gimblett Gravels subregion in Hawkes Bay. It&#8217;s by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.crossroadswinery.co.nz\/\">Crossroads Winery<\/a>, part of the Ager Sectus group that includes Southbank Estate and the Crossings.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Crossroads Winery Syrah 2008 Gimblett Gravels, Hawkes Bay, New Zealand<br \/>\n<\/strong>Lovely perfumed sweet dark cherry fruit nose, like a rich Pinot Noir but with some black pepper notes. The palate is midweight and fresh with elegant cherry and berry fruit as well as some nice peppery grip. Very easy to drink but with a hint of seriousness.
