I was delighted to find that two of my favourite Vinho Verdes fitted into this category. These are benchmark examples of how good the Alvarinho and Loureiro grape varieties can be. It&#8217;s such a shame that Vinho Verde has such a bad reputation in the UK.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Soalheiro Alvarinho 2012 Vinho Verde, Portugal<\/strong><br \/>\n12.5% alcohol. Beautifully lively and precise with a tiny hint of spritz, lovely pear, apple and citrus fruit and nice weight, with a hint of melony sweetness.
