There&#8217;s so much to see; you can&#8217;t hope to do everything, but instead just have to make sure you do enough that&#8217;s worthwhile.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>I presented another session matching Alentejo wines with cheese and sausages from the region, but the rest of my time was spent tasting.<\/p>\n<p>Highlights included some nice wines from Karl H Johner (presented by Patrick Johner, pictured with me below) from both Baden, Germany and Gladstone, New Zealand.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.wineanorak.com:\/wineblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/P1020551.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-622\" title=\"P1020551\" src=\"http:\/\/www.wineanorak.com:\/wineblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/P1020551.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.wineanorak.com:\/wineblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/P1020551.jpg 500w, https:\/\/www.wineanorak.com:\/wineblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/P1020551-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.wineanorak.com:\/wineblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/P1020551-150x112.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.wineanorak.com:\/wineblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/P1020551-400x300.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I also loved the latest vintages of the De Bortoli wines from the Yarra Valley. Pretty serious, and with sane alcohol levels (reserve Chardonnay is 12%). \u00a0Steve Webber and Leanne De Bortoli are pictured (top).<\/p>\n<p>Also really interesting were the wines from Walla Walla Valley (Washington State, USA) pioneers Woodward Canyon.
