\n<\/a>Today was the third and final day of the London wine trade fair. There’s so much to see; you can’t hope to do everything, but instead just have to make sure you do enough that’s worthwhile.<\/span><\/p>\n

I presented another session matching Alentejo wines with cheese and sausages from the region, but the rest of my time was spent tasting.<\/p>\n

Highlights included some nice wines from Karl H Johner (presented by Patrick Johner, pictured with me below) from both Baden, Germany and Gladstone, New Zealand.<\/p>\n

I also loved the latest vintages of the De Bortoli wines from the Yarra Valley. Pretty serious, and with sane alcohol levels (reserve Chardonnay is 12%). \u00a0Steve Webber and Leanne De Bortoli are pictured (top).<\/p>\n

Also really interesting were the wines from Walla Walla Valley (Washington State, USA) pioneers Woodward Canyon. Rick Small, the owner, is pictured below.<\/p>\n
