\nThere are some things that I like more the older I get. I tweeted yesterday about how much I a growing to like white Rhone varieties such as Marsanne, Grenache Gris and Blanc, and Viognier. I also find that I’m appreciated Champagne more. And also Pinot Noir, which is a bit of an addiction.<\/p>\n
Here’s a really good example from Germany. A lot of people have been bigging up German Pinot Noir a lot. I’ve enjoyed many examples, but not been all that wowed by them: they have somehow been incomplete wines. And they are also very expensive. This Johner is not cheap, but it’s not crazy expensive, and it’s a complete wine.<\/p>\n

\n13.5% alcohol. Pale cherry red colour. Lovely focused cherry fruit nose with some spice and herb notes. Sappy and complex. The palate is taut and herbal with ripe cherry fruits and some sappy green overtones. Lovely savoury, spicy edge here.
