Another day of wine trade cricket today, on a day that actually felt like summer.<\/p>\n

We were playing Majestc at Hampton Wick, a lovely pitch in the grounds of Bushy Park<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It was a 40 over game, but we got them out for under 100 in 20 overs, overhauled their total, and then had a second 10 over match because of the spare time. We won this also quite comfortably.<\/p>\n

I opened the bowling and bowled through my 8 overs for 2-41. The ball was swinging like a banana and I kept drifting out to leg. In the 10 over game everyone had to bowl an over and mine went for 3. It was a glorious day, and the cricket was fun.<\/p>\n

At tea, some wine was going around. It was nice\u00a0to try the new release 2012 Villa Maria Private Bin Sauvignon Blanc. This was really aromatic but perhaps lacked a bit of presence and acidity on the palate: a real crowd-pleaser, though.<\/p>\n

And I\u00a0enjoyed a 2009 Saint Chinian from Calmel J Joseph, which was fresh, fruity, meaty, savoury and incredibly drinkable. At around \u00a310 retail, this is a really lovely wine, especially suited to a warm summer day like today. It’s available from Daniel Lambert\u00a0Wines\/The\u00a0Welsh\u00a0Wine Company.
