It&#8217;s a new single-vineyard Shiraz from Barossa producer St Hallett, and it has bags of personality. It won&#8217;t be to everyone&#8217;s taste, but it&#8217;s distinctive and potentially ageworthy. Very Australian in style, but quite serious with it.<\/p>\n<p><strong>St Hallett Single Vineyard Release Dawkins Vineyard Shiraz 2009 Eden Valley, Barossa<br \/>\n<\/strong>From a single vineyard at 380 m, with grey\/brown loam soils. Intensely aromatic with vivid menthol, mint and raspberry nose. The palate is very fresh and well defined with more of those mint\/menthol notes as well as sweet raspberry and blackberry fruit. On the one hand, this is very sweet, ripe and Australian, while on the other it&#8217;s fresh with good acidity. There&#8217;s real substance and concentration here.
