We visited an over-performing co-op here: whites from Malvasia; reds chiefly from Rufete and Juan Garcia.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.wineanorak.com:\/wineblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/IMGP0156.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-271\" title=\"IMGP0156\" src=\"http:\/\/www.wineanorak.com:\/wineblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/IMGP0156.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.wineanorak.com:\/wineblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/IMGP0156.jpg 500w, https:\/\/www.wineanorak.com:\/wineblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/IMGP0156-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.wineanorak.com:\/wineblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/IMGP0156-150x99.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.wineanorak.com:\/wineblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/IMGP0156-400x266.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Then, after what was a light lunch, but turned out to be as heavy as I&#8217;ve had, we drove to Toro, where we stayed overnight at the Castillo de Monte la Reina, an impressive new venture making some well defined Toros (the vineyards, above, have distinctive pebbly soils).
