I spent yesterday working my way up from Lisbon &#8211; first at Quinta Sant&#8217;Ana in Mafra (James Frost, the owner, is pictured above) \u00a0&#8211; what was Estremadura but is now VR Lisboa. Then Q Sanguinhal, Obidos (also Lisboa region), and then Q do Casal Branco in the Tejo (was Ribatejo &#8211; all these regions have recently changed their names), before staying the night in the Beira Interior with Almeida Garrett. Portugal&#8217;s lesser known regions they may be, but some of the wines are really good.<\/p>\n<p>Top picture: old Castelao vine at Casal Branco. \u00a0Below: older vineyard at Sanguinhal.
