Despite my jet-lag, this was a sensational meal. But it comes at a price. One of the dishes, which was amazing &#8211; the dry-aged ribeye, B.S. fries, cheese sauce &#8211; was $153, although it does serve a few!<\/p>\n<p>The wine list is stunning, with a brilliant selection of very cool bottles. Again, not cheap, but this place justifies the sticker shock. It&#8217;s Trebbiano (mainly) from Tuscany, and it&#8217;s refermented in the bottle with the aid of some vin santo. Tart and complex with a lot of vitality.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-24312\" src=\"http:\/\/www.wineanorak.com:\/wineblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/labetchardonnay-500x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.wineanorak.com:\/wineblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/labetchardonnay.jpg 500w, https:\/\/www.wineanorak.com:\/wineblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/labetchardonnay-150x90.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.wineanorak.com:\/wineblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/labetchardonnay-400x240.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Labet&#8217;s Champs Rouge is a Chardonnay from 60 year old vines grown on limestone. We were served this one blind and couldn&#8217;t nail it &#8211; I thought it was Chablis. Very tight and linear.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-24310\" src=\"http:\/\/www.wineanorak.com:\/wineblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/exvero3-500x375.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.wineanorak.com:\/wineblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/exvero3.jpg 500w, https:\/\/www.wineanorak.com:\/wineblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/exvero3-150x113.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.wineanorak.com:\/wineblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/exvero3-400x300.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Ex Vero III from Werlitsch, 2012 vintage. Quite profound, with intensity and minerality. A stunning wine from the south of Austria.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-24313\" src=\"http:\/\/www.wineanorak.com:\/wineblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/lamystaubin-500x304.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"304\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.wineanorak.com:\/wineblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/lamystaubin.jpg 500w, https:\/\/www.wineanorak.com:\/wineblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/lamystaubin-150x91.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.wineanorak.com:\/wineblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/lamystaubin-400x243.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This was verging on the profound. Absolutely benchmark white Burgundy. Served to us blind, again. A brilliantly focused wine with pure linear red fruits.
