It&#8217;s very different from Riesling grown elsewhere, and it&#8217;s remarkably consistent. I know there are supposed to be regional differences between wines from the two top regions &#8211; Clare and Eden Valley &#8211; but I&#8217;m not sure I&#8217;d pick them blind. Here&#8217;s a really good example of an ageworthy Eden Valley Riesling that&#8217;s beginning to develop nicely.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Peter Lehmann Wigan Riesling 2003 Eden Valley, Australia<\/strong><br \/>\n11% alcohol. Aromatic, limey nose with some subtle toast and faint petrol notes. The palate is taut, limey and dry with good acidity and some complexity.
