Had this bottle the other night at Noble Rot. You can tell times are changing if I’m going out and ordering (a) a Grenache (b) from the McLaren Vale. Both grape \u00a0variety and region are underestimated, and it takes a producer like Ochota Barrels<\/a> to show their potential, with the strong imprint of winemaking and picking over-ripe taken out of the picture.<\/p>\n

Ochota Barrels The Fugazi Vineyard Grenache 2015 McLaren Vale, Australia<\/strong>
\n13.8% alcohol. From an unirrigated vineyard planted in 1947, producing tiny berries. Sweetly aromatic with ripe, smooth cherry and plum fruit. Very textural and fine with a faint hint of ginger and pepper, as well as fine-grained red fruits. There’s some fruit sweetness but also impeccable balance. 93\/100<\/p>\n
