Popped into The Remedy a few days ago for a drink with Mr Primack. We had some interesting things, as you’d expect. Here are my notes.<\/p>\n

Barranco Oscuro Salvaje Blanco 2014 Spain<\/strong>
\nThis comes from Europes highest vineyards. Barranco Oscuro have 12 hectares in the Sierra de Contraviesa near Granada in the south of Spain. This wine is a Sauvignon Blanc from two plots, one consisting of 800 vines planted in 1986 on slate soils at 1330 m, and the other from 500 vines in clay soils at 1300 m. Yields are tiny, and no sulfur dioxide is added. It’s lively, fresh and taut with some mineral reduction. Bright and detailed with nice precision. 91\/100<\/p>\n

\"OLYMPUS<\/p>\n

Don Chisciotte Fiano 2013 Campania, Italy<\/strong>
\nA semi-orange skin contact wine. 12.5% alcohol. This is fresh, tangy and detailed with smoothness and sweetness. Tangy with a bit of tannin and nice fresh citrus and pear fruit, as well as a hint of fennel. 93\/100<\/p>\n

Don Chisciotte Fiano 2010 Campania, Italy<\/strong>
\nQuite taut and closed with some grip, and a savoury quality. Has some subtle bitter notes, with nice weight in the mouth. Bright and savoury. Interesting, but the 2013 is a bit more compelling. 91\/100<\/p>\n

\"OLYMPUS<\/p>\n

Domaine Les Deux Terres Vin Nu 2014 Vin de France<\/strong>
\n12% alcohol. This is a varietal Grenache from the Ard\u00e8che made with no added sulfur dioxide. It’s from a 13 hectare domaine with two terroirs: basalt and clay\/limestone, and it’s the project of Vincent Fargier and Manu Cunin (hence ‘Vin Nu’). Grainy with fresh red cherries, plums and nice sweet, focused fruit. Juicy wth stony undercurrents, this is a real vin de soif. 92\/100<\/p>\n

\"OLYMPUS<\/p>\n

d’Oliveras Vedelho 1912 Madeira<\/strong>
\nWhat a treat! Amazingly complex with spice, cedar and leather notes on the nose, and flavours of marmalade, spice and lemons on the palate. So complex and intense with high acidity and amazing finesse. 97\/100<\/p>\n
