The family have owned this Ponci\u00e9 plot since 1872, and it\u2019s on a steep slope which tops out at 400 m. Soils are decomposed granite, and the average age of the vines is 55 years. Winemaking is traditional, with destemming and cap plunging, and the wine is allowed to clarify naturally after long ageing on lees.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ch\u00e2teau de Beauregard Fleurie Ponci\u00e9 2013 Beaujolais, France<\/strong><br \/>\n13% alcohol. A lighter-coloured Beaujolais that\u2019s really fine, sappy and elegant, with a leafy green edge to the pure, silky, floral cherry fruit. Such finesse and purity.
