At Daniel Primack’s home we consumed a number of wine wines yesterday, including this triplet from the Jura. The first two were from Daniel’s cellar; the third was brought by fellow wine writer Matt Walls. I think I love the Jura.<\/p>\n

Lucien Aviet et Fils Caveau de Bacchus R\u00e9serve Cuv\u00e9e des G\u00e9ologues 2012 Jura, France<\/strong>
\n13% alcohol. This is a varietal Trosseau, and it’s an appealing light cherry red in colour. Very fine and expressive with pure red cherries and a hint of cranberry. So detailed, silky and pure: a lighter red wine with real finesse and poise. 94\/100<\/p>\n

\nFrom a small selection massale Poulsard parcel of 22 ares planted in 1969 and 24 ares planted in 1994; west-facing at 150 m; no added sulfites; 10.4% alcohol. Very fresh and fine with bright red cherries and subtle leafiness. Fine and pure with a mineral core and lovely sappy notes. Very light bodied and quite beautiful. 93\/100<\/p>\n

Jacques Puffeney Chardonnay 2013 Arbois, Jura, France<\/strong>
\nLinear and taut this shows nice bright citrus fruit with a hint of flintiness. Linear and fine with pear and citrus fruit to the fore, showing good purity. 91\/100<\/p>\n
