After a couple of days of lodging with family, we&#8217;ve moved out to a camp site in Croyde. It&#8217;s very pleasant, quiet and has views of the sea. What more could you want? (A bit pricey for just a pitch, though, at \u00a336 a night, three night minimum stay).<\/p>\n<p>A couple of wines worth reporting on. <strong>Babich Black Label Sauvignon Blanc 2009 Marlborough<\/strong> was much better than I&#8217;d have expected. Lovely vibrant gooseberry and grapefruit characters, with some fruity richness. This was enjoyed over lunch at Saunton Sands Cafe. Then last night, a deliciously fruity <strong>Rolling Shiraz 2007<\/strong> from <strong>Cumulus Wines<\/strong> in Australia&#8217;s Central Ranges (New South Wales). This was \u00a314 in a pub in Braunton, which is pretty good value, I reckon. Fresh cool climate style with pure berryish fruit.<\/p>\n<p>Weather was filthy this morning, but has now cleared up and we are getting the promised sunny spells. Pictured below is yesterday&#8217;s kite flying session on Saunton beach.
