This wonderful Estate is turning out some really impressive red wines which capture
perfectly the dusty, herby, chunky complexity that typifies the Mudgee regional character.
Visitors are made welcome, left to pour their own tasting samples (an excellent
arrangement that makes taking notes a lot more straightforward) and are welcomed to tour
the large barrel room (this hosts a well known classical concert each year).
Dry White 1999
A Chardonnay/Semillon blend. Fresh fruity/citrus nose. Rounded on palate with zippy
acidity. Good
Semillon 1999 Mudgee
Broad, fat palate with good acidity and plenty of character.
1999 Semillon Chardonnay, Mudgee
Fat palate, with the richness from the Chardonnay nicely tempered by the crisp Semillon.
1998 Chardonnay barrel fermented
Lovely rich barrel-ferment nose. Toasty and nutty. On palate this is rich and full
flavoured with toasty oak and ripe fruit. Very good.
1997 Mudgee Shiraz Bin FB37
Characterful wine with caramel and berry fruit nose. On the palate there is rich berry
fruit, some spice and a caramel edge. Individual wine with some of that typical Mudgee
flavour.
1997 Mudgee Cabernet Sauvignon Bin FB35
Interesting, dusty nose. On the palate there are dusty tannins and some oak, with some
earthy fruit. Good concentration; interesting stuff. Very good.
1997 Shiraz/Cabernet/Merlot Bin FB40
Deep tannic wine with noticeable oak and dusty tannins. Dry and full flavoured. Good
stuff.
1997 Cabernet Sauvignon/Shiraz Bin FB39
Full bodied and tannic, with good concentration and character. Youthful tasting. Pretty
good.
1995 Cabernet Sauvignon Bin FB30
An impressive wine. Intense, menthol-laced nose. Super-concentrated with exotic aromas and
flavours. Spicy and tannic with rich fruit and complexity. Super stuff. Very
good/excellent
