My wine predictions for 2008: how are they shaping up?

Back at the beginning of the year, I posted my wine predictions for 2008. How do you think they are shaping up?

Looking very good Jamie. Just a couple of points I saw recently which might be of interest. With regards New Zealand having a good year, i heard from someone that they don't have enough stainless steel in the whole country to store all the SB they've made now that new plantings have come online. One retailer's big brand SB offer popped into my inbox the other day at £4.99 a bottle. Wrong direction guys!

Also on the neoprohibitionism angle, I saw in the London Paper last night that 'experts' were considering introducing compulsory booze queues in retailers so that buyers of alcohol could be sent on a walk of shame and pointed at and generally sneered at. Another idea that, as you bemoan, completely ignores the roots of the problem and targets overall drinking in a vain and futile attempt to reduce binge drinking. Crazy...

Very interesting; I'd say you're spot-on.
