Shameless self-promotion time.
After missing out on the Andre Simon award, I've had a spot of good news this week.
On Tuesday I found out that Wine Science has been shortlisted for the Roederer Award (announced May 16th at the LIWSF), and today I learned that it's also been shortlisted for the Glenfiddich award. That's announced a day earlier. Fantastic.
As if that wasn't enough, I'm also shortlisted for Roederer winewriter of the year - the official shortlist says it's for articles in the 'Sun, Express and World of Fine Wine'. Erm, I've never written for The Sun - makes me sound like the tabloid king - think it was meant to read the 'Sunday Express'. I'd love to win the Roederer. I think you get a case of Cristal. If I do, I'll get a bin, fill it with ice, put the bottles in, put on some bling, whack the gagsta rap on, and you're all invited round. Party on.

I see I'm not the only one who's lost faith in Crystal.
er Jamie if you're keen on winning the award then I'd suggest pointing out spelling mistakes and ridiculing the sponsor's fizz is a pretty ballsy strategy!

Thanks for the comments. Regular blog readers will know that I adore cristal, despite the image it has gained in recent years - it would be fun to actually *drink* some rather than sip it reverently.
Great news!!! Along with everyone else, count me in for the party. Although, judging by the amount of people signing up for the party we'll all be sitting there nursing our quota reverently as the R&B struggles to fill the void of an empty bin.
How about this as a plan b: You get the Sun to sponsor the party. I'm sure that the good fellows of Fleet St. could show all of us a thing about bling.
