Day 2, wine fair

Day 2, wine fair

I’m sneaking in a quick blog post from day 2 of the wine fair. I’m sitting in the access zone, which is the social media hub of the fair. Pictured above is André Ribeirinho (www.adegga.com) and Benoit Tarlant (of Champagne Tarlant), who is showing off his new iPad. Very interesting bit of technology.

This morning I presented a tasting on English Sparkling wine. Specifically, we looked at how it compares with benchmarks from elsewhere. The English sparkling wines showed brilliantly.

Then I did an Alentejo food and wine matching session, and I’m just about to repeat yesterday’s ‘Touriga Nacional Rocks!’ tasting. I’ve also managed to taste the excellent Man O’War range from NZ’s Waiheke Island.

  1. I was impressed with the Ridgeview Knightsbridge. Felt that the BdB styles didn’t work so well.

  2. Argh! I didn’t see you when you popped into the Access Zone. I’d have loved to try my wines on you since I was pouring them there for the length of the fair.
