A lovely natural Garnacha from Bodegas Ponce – Buena Pinta

pnice buena pinta

Continuing a bit of an Iberian theme here on the world’s second oldest wine blog, this is a wine that I can heartily recommend. Imported into the UK by the fabulous www.indigowine.com, it’s a natural expression of Garnacha/Grenache that scores high for its drinkability and elegance. I’ve reviewed other wines from Ponce here.

Bodegas Ponce Buena Pinta 2010 Manchuela, Spain
From the wonderful Bodegas Ponce, this is a deliciously light and natural expression of Garnacha. It has lovely fresh aromatics with bright cherry fruit and some meaty savouriness. There’s a nice peppery, grippy structure, too. Amazingly fresh and drinkable, yet with some seriousness and a bit of structure too. Just my sort of wine: the sort of thing I’m always in the mood for. 91/100

Added later: I’ve found out that this wine is actually a blend of Garnacha with a local variety called Moravia Agria.
