Cask ale at home – wonderful Strange Brew

Had a fun dinner party last night. My buddy Karl started proceedings off well by bring round a wonderful beer. It was a cask ale from Twickenham Fine Ales – the ‘Strange Brew’.

Now I love bottled beer, but cask ales just taste different, and to enjoy them you have to go to a pub. Nothing wrong with that, but it’s nice to be able to enjoy a cask ale at home. The beer Karl brought along, which he purchased at local wine merchant Noble Green wines, was in a four pint plastic carton of the sort used for milk, taken straight from a cask.

Strange Brew is a wonderful dark ‘golden ale’ with lovely hoppy character, and a bit of spiciness. It’s incredibly easy to drink, and it was polished off pretty quickly.
