INTRODUCTION

Portugal is a beautiful country, and one that's increasingly making better wines. This section of wineanorak.com is dedicated to the wines of Portugal, which I've been following with some interest over recent years. I hope that it helps stir you up to take a deeper look and discover what all the fuss is about.

If you are new to Portuguese wines, why not start off by taking a quick tour through the different regions? Or you may prefer to focus on the wines themselves - there are plenty of tasting notes here, with details of UK availability of the wines mentioned. For those outside the UK, try the wonderfully functional www.wine-searcher.com to help you track these wines down.

Another way to begin to understand the wines of Portugal is to see the different regions themselves: if you can't get to Portugal, then get an idea of what the vineyards look like from my library of Portuguese wine images.

Finally, there's a list of links that I hope will provide you with the information not given here.
