Wine photo of the week 

The Douro Superior. This is frontier country, right at the end of the Douro Valley, some 20 miles from the Spanish border. 
The newly planted vineyard in the foreground is Quinta de la Rosa's new property, Bandeiras. Over the river is 
Vale Meao, which used to be the source of the grapes for the famed Barca Velha. Picture taken July 2006.
